But here are some other pictures of what I think we could probably fairly say is a place that has seen better days.
A record of field trips and other explorations of a particular urban design element - the internal reserve - a 'pocket park' surrounded on all sides by residential housing but accessible by pedestrian pathways from the street. Abronhill centre, Cumbernauld, Scotland
We tend not to dwell too much in the realm of poverty porn here on the IRs blog and it has to be emphasised that, despite what these photographs appear to show, there are shops within this complex and people using them. I am mainly interested in this as an example of an open space feature adjoining the town centre buildings at Abronhill, which is a suburb of Cumbernauld new town.
